About
Neal is a seasoned leader in the insurance and financial services industry. He began his career as an agent in 1982 and soon moved into management roles with a leading insurance company.
Neal worked to successfully expand the company’s footprint into new territories throughout the southeastern United States. This work established the foundation for Neal’s success when he opened Neal Smith & Associates, a financial services agency in Nashville, Tennessee in 1994. In addition to the core business, Neal established a marketing company that assisted insurance agencies and other small business in direct-to-consumer marketing and other lead development activities.
In 2007, Neal had the opportunity to sell his business and joined a niche commercial insurance company. In his 15 years there, Neal quickly established his reputation as an effective and empathetic servant leader. He was also known as one who delivered practical, “street smart” guidance as the company sought ways to become more productive and expand into other niche markets.
Beyond his primary role as Sales Director, Neal mentored and coached dozens of people in formal leadership development activities. He was also sought out as an advisor, mentor, and coach by individuals seeking professional growth or dealing with personal challenges. This became the source of Neal’s passion for helping others grow through coaching.
Neal retired from the insurance business in early 2023 but continues working with people to help them find their full potential and maximize their performance.
