“What does it take to build a golf course? The idea came to us one Thanksgiving dinner.  Little did I know what it would lead to.  I had to do extensive research, feasibility studies and all groundwork necessary to build a golf course on our family farm.  I worked hard with my family team to help secure financing, get all the necessary licenses and permits, and contract builders for the development of the golf course and clubhouse.  We built the golf course and clubhouse within 1 ½ years of that fateful thanksgiving dinner conversation.  I opened the clubhouse, hired and trained all staff, implemented all systems, oversaw over 100 tournaments per season, created a successful men’s and ladies nights, managed a successful restaurant and golf shop, as well as maintaining all back-office and front office activity for the golf course.  I owned and managed Pineridge Golf Course for almost 20 years before successfully selling it.  Thus I have been through the successful life-cycle of a business, from research, feasibility, business development, building, implementing systems, hiring and managing staff, financial management, strategic planning, sales, marketing, customer service – have extensive experience implementing and managing it all.  Little did I know that this was just the beginning for learning systems, best business practices, and practical applications as a business coach and consultant!”

Founder and President of Thrive Business Strategies, Cindy Piva has a vast business background. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in marketing, she established herself in the Kamloops business community by developing, building, owning and operating Pineridge Golf Course for over 20 years.

She sold Pineridge and followed her passion for business and helping others grow by becoming a Master Business Coach. Part coach, advisor, consultant and trainer, Cindy helps clients increase their profits and achieve success through customized strategic planning, implementation, focused best business practices and innovative strategies, thus she delivers high-impact results for her clients. From concept to selling – Cindy understands where her clients have been and where they are going.

Cindy is Master Business Coach with the Professional Business Coaches Association (PBCA), an organization that upholds the highest standards of business coaching and consulting. She was honoured to be named “Coach of the Year – Western Region” by her peers in this group in 2014. She has worked with hundreds of businesses and helped them plan, improve, and achieve incredible results.

Kamloops is home, although she works with clients all across North America. Cindy loves giving back to the community and organizations that have supported her. She is Past-President of Kamloops West Rotary, District Trainer for Rotary District 5060, helping to train leaders at the District level. She sits on the board of directors of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, the board of directors for the Kamloops Hospice Association, and the board of directors of the PBCA (Canadian Division). In the past, she’s served as President of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and was on the board of directors for Thompson Rivers University Alumni Board.  Cindy is happily married to her high-school sweetheart and has 3 grown children.
