Laureen Kelley has more than 30 years’ experience in facilitation. She has designed and facilitated programs at major airlines for leaders and crewmembers including pilots and flight attendants. Her background encompasses a wide range of programs to include leadership and project management training, customer service, and regulatory training for both flight attendants and pilots.
Laureen’s aviation career began in 1987 and she has served as a leader in the training of airline crews. Her expertise in the facilitation of crew resource/threat and error management, leadership effectiveness, conflict resolution and situational awareness is recognized as top in the industry. Laureen was sought out to be a member of team to develop a new and innovative way of training airline crews. She and her team were successful in transitioning the traditional crew training to an advanced qualification program. This program introduced a realistic approach and hands-on training to enhance the learned skills necessary for safety and security of the customers and crewmembers on every flight. Other leading airlines consulted Laureen and her team for best practices to introduce this advanced training to their crews.
In addition to training programs, Laureen provided key leadership in the Inflight Recruiting Project team. In this role, she provided creative input into a redesign of the airline’s recruiting process which resulted in screening of over 100,000 applications for the best candidates to fill this crucial role. Her leadership as a Recruiting Coordinator led her team to screen, interview, and select successful candidates. Her continuous improvement processes allowed the recruiting team to consistently meet their hiring targets.
Laureen has also been a team member on two aircraft certifications, most recently the advanced 787 Dreamliner. In addition to safety and security training, Laureen facilitates the highest level of customer service training to ensure the airlines are best in class. She has earned her certification in Franklin Covey Time Management and Project Management. Her facilitation of these courses was highly effective to create a stronger and more productive work group. Laureen has hosted safety training seminars for outside clients to include Exxon Mobile. She is known by her colleagues and clients as having a keen attention to detail, energetic and delivering a quality product. She is passionate about training and it shows every time she is in front of a group.
Laureen lives in Houston, TX with her husband David and her two teenage boys. She enjoys walking, traveling and most importantly, making lifetime memories with her family.
